AFCEA - Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (Stuttgart Chapter)

The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association is one of the world's premier C4I professional societies. With over 33,000 members on four continents, AFCEA is comprised of political, military and industry leaders. There are 135 different AFCEA chapters in over 30 countries. The Association is widely recognized for excellence, high ethical standards and the quality of its events. It is considered by top decision makers to be the pre-eminent association in its field. AFCEA serves as an ethical bridge between government requirements and industry's capabilities, representing the top government, industry, and military professionals. The Stuttgart Chapter has won numerous Chapter and individual awards over the past several years and was named the 2008 Best Chapter of its size in the world. It sponsors numerous professional development events and its Scholarship Program annually awards $10,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds to Stuttgart-area High School seniors.

The Black Forest Quilt Guild is a German-American group dedicated to the art of piecing and quilting beautiful fabrics. The group offers many great opportunities to meet new friends and participate in interesting quilting activities throughout the area.

German-American Women's Club

We hope to promote friendship, international understanding and tolerance among people of different nationalities. Special interest groups are the heart of our club and often long lasting friendships are formed. Members of the club meet on a regular basis to share special skills and common interests with one another. Another objective is to help needy people and to support welfare projects. The club’s main fundraiser is the annual Penny Bazaar - a giant flea market - where all the members and other volunteers work together and sell used goods that they have collected during the year.

KONTAKT began in 1969 as a program developed by the US-Army Europe and the Federal Ministry of Youth, Family, Women and Health. The program gives US-personnel, Soldiers and civilians the opportunity to share their interests together with Germans and citizen of other countries. It serves as a bridge to overcome the differences of new cultures. KONTAKT is many things to many people. Kontakt welcomes people of all ages who live, work or study in Germany. A KONTAKTER is someone who is interested in people, where they come from, how they all think and their different language. Looking for the common denominator among all people!

Patch Ski Club

We do more than just ski! The goal of the PSC Board of Directors is to make great ski and other outdoor trips available and enjoyable to as many people as possible. The Patch Ski Club is open to everyone and is dedicated to having fun both here in Stuttgart at our club events and on the ski slopes. Enjoy organized trips for skiing & snowboarding, mountain biking, golfing, jazz festivals, river rafting...you name it. Become a member and make your European tour as memorable as possible!

Being an SGAWC member has many advantages, bus trips, both in and out of Germany, pre-registration at walks, group prize raffle at monthly meetings, Volksmarche information on future marches and the award system. One of the biggest advantages is German-American friendship! The club is a good vehicle for learning about our host nation and a way to get out and do some physical exercise with the whole family. All levels of fitness from beginners to expert, old to young, anyone who wants to see the beauty of Germany and surrounding countries. Our club is a member of both the IVV and DVV.

Stuttgart Singers

A choral group under the umbrella of the Stuttgart Choral Arts Society, the Stuttgart Singers is open to all female community members age 14 and over. Stuttgart Piranhas Swim Team

The Piranhas are one of the premiere teams of the European Forces Swim League (EFSL). A swimmer is eligible for the Piranhas if s/he is between 6 and 19 years old and can swim one stroke unassisted for 50 meters. The swim season runs from August through February. During this time, the Piranhas compete against other EFSL teams located in Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and the UK.
