Physical Security

The physical security section develops new or updates existing physical security policies, procedures, and plans that actualize the director of emergency services guidance and intent to protect garrison assets from loss, theft or destruction. They assist tenant unit commanders and directors in their efforts to establish effective internal physical security programs by conducting physical inspections, surveys and training. They identify problems or vulnerable areas and provided recommendations to enhance tenant unit's overall security awareness.

Additional responsibilities of the physical security section include:

  • Conduct risk analysis of Mission Essential Vulnerable Areas (MEVAs).
  • Assist tenant units in establishing key and lock control programs.
  • Review unit physical security standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as Points of Contact for technical or procedural problems involving the garrisons new Enhance Security Pedestrian Gates (ESPGs).
  • Review construction plans to ensure compliance with Army physical security and DOD Antiterrorism building standards.
